Tenor

Larson Miller (‘Vey-to’)

Contemporary American tenor and entrant to the Peabody Conservatory master’s program for operatic voice (2025-2027), Larson Miller’s soaring range and tender expression lifts hearts and spirits in classic traditionals and contemporary pieces alike. Taught to sing in the woodlands of the Monadnock region, where he learned both local Shaker hymnals and bel canto technique from a very early age, Larson has since performed a variety of roles in opera and musical theatre across the East Coast with ease and passion.

A “unique and captivating” presence on stage, tenor Larson Miller, who also performs under his stagename Veto, leaves this past season having sung in productions across the Boston and Washington, DC metro area, featuring with Boston Summer Opera (Concert Series, Golden Age of Italian Opera), Opera51 (Anthony Cover – Sweeney Todd), with the Raylynmore Opera House (Samuel - Pirates of Penzance), and with The Washington Chorus as tenor section lead and selected soloist in collaboration with the National Philharmonic Orchestra at the Kennedy Center & Wolftrap Stage, and with Exigence Vocal Ensemble at the Kennedy Center. Larson is thrilled to announce his debut as Borsa (Cover) with Boston Summer Opera in the summer season of 2025. Larson Miller graduated from the 4-year vocal program at Sarah Lawrence College where he had the opportunity to study under Grammy-Award Winning tenor Thomas Young of Three ‘Mo Tenors and opera fame. At the time, he also performed theatre Off-Broadway in New York City (The General - Deformed Transformed), and opera and musical theatre at the University of Leeds in England (Aeneas - Dido and Aeneas; Into the Woods; Merrily We Roll Along), where Larson wrote book and lyrics for an original two-act musical with U.K. composer Lucy Gossip, ‘Nobody Survives in Moscow’ (2017). Larson currently studies in the voice studio of the esteemed baritone Andy Papas, where he studies operatic voice and especially enjoys singing songs from the bel canto era of Italian opera.

In addition to his strong vocal aptitude, Larson is also an award-winning stage sound designer and film score composer, being twice nominated and an award winner for Outstanding Sound Design in a Musical in the 2023 Washington Area Theatre Community Honors (WATCH, 2023 and 2024). Most recently, his sounds were featured in The Arlington Players Theatre production of Little Women, where “Larson…recorded a unique and terrific soundscape for the musical, treating the audience to a beautiful woven masterpiece of birds chirping, stairs squeaking, and all the natural noises that serve as the background of the Alcott home.” (DC Theater Arts). Larson currently resides near Concord, Massachusetts, where he enjoys physical sport, athletics, and dynamic stretching. Larson will be starting at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland, where he aspires to study operatic voice and graduate with his master’s in music in 2027. Larson’s great-grandfather, Vittorio (Veto to his friends and family), came to a Pennsylvania mining town from Italy, and began a line of Victors stretching three generations. Larson is extremely grateful for his friends, family, and dogs for their endless support.
